Meet your counselor

I'm Nicole Tavera, M.A., LPCA, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Kentucky. I believe therapy works best when you feel like you're talking to a real person.
Maybe you're overwhelmed, navigating a major transition, adjusting to motherhood, or working through painful experiences. Therapy can give you a place to slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and begin making changes that fit your life.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. Together, we'll explore what you're experiencing, what matters to you, and what will actually be useful in your everyday life.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The Ohio State University. My clinical experience includes supporting adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, women's mental health concerns, and relationship stress.

What sessions feel like
A space to slow down.
Sometimes our work may involve understanding patterns or processing past experiences. Other times, we may focus on coping skills, boundaries, relationships, emotional regulation, or figuring out what needs to change.
My integrative approach draws from several methods. We'll work together to decide what makes sense for you.
Specific interventions, including EMDR, are used when clinically appropriate, within training and supervision, and with informed consent.Sessions & fees
